Our Trips 2025
Last Boats Down The Cooper
12 Days, 15th September - 26th September
G’day Cobbs,
For over 50 years, our family has been running expeditions into Australia’s most remote waterways. The late Rex Ellis first pioneered these journeys in the 1970s, guiding adventurers down the Warburton, Cooper, and even across Lake Eyre itself.
Since Rex’s passing, his grandsons Solomon and Kale have taken up the oars — and in 2025, for the first time since the flood of 2011, the Cooper Creek was successfully navigated once again.
These are not ordinary trips. At the top end, the Cooper spreads into vast swamp country, cattle fences disappearing beneath the water. Further downstream it cuts through Beautiful red sand dunes and cliffs, alive with birdlife in the middle of the desert. As it nears Lake Eyre, the river fans out into an endless, breathtaking landscape that only floods a handful of times in a century.
Now, we’re offering one final chance for 2025:
15–26 September
The Last Boats Down the Cooper
This could be the last expedition of its kind for decades. Once the Cooper dries, it may not flood again for 15–20 years.
Places are strictly limited. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Be part of history.
For full details, we can send you the itinerary.
*Additional trips, including 'Salt Lake Walks' and 'Walking The Great Australian Bite,' will be added once confirmed.
