This is one of the world's best desert mountain ranges, a region of great solitude and dramatic scenery.

      Most treks depart from the Flinders Ranges Camel Farm at Blinman.  This is a tiny South Australian outback town, rich in mining and pastoral history and is the only town in the central Flinders Ranges.  It is almost 2,000 feet above sea level.

The wildlife is varied and plentiful, ranging from Red and Grey Kangaroos, Euros [Common Wallaroo] to the rare and beautiful Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby.  Echidnas and Goannas and other Lizard species are well represented,   along with a wide variety of birdlife.  These include magnificent Wedge-tailed Eagles, Emus, Ringneck and Mulga Parrots, Little Corellas, the Peregrine Falcon and many others.
